When Chris disobeys his father by sneaking into the Quantum lab to look at the Professor’s latest invention, he has an accident that almost destroys the top secret work-in-progress. Chris is mortified and doesn’t know what he’ll say to his father. SUPERBOOK intervenes and takes our three heroes on a journey to witness Lucifer’s fall and transformation into Satan during a blistering heavenly battle.

Chris is stoked because he got a Holo9, the ultimate holographic gaming system! But Chris starts to feel a twinge of guilt when he hears that a sick boy in the hospital would like to have one. It takes SUPERBOOK’S assistance to turn Chris around after he meets Abraham and Issac. Through Abraham's obedience to God, Chris learns that you should put God first, above all else (even an Holo9), and everything else will work out.

In the Quantum yard, during a spirited water fight, Joy accidentally gets Gizmo's inner workings wet, and he fritzes out. Chris becomes furious with Joy, saying he'll never forgive her. Superbook intercedes and whisks the kids back to the days of Jacob and Esau. The two brothers compete over many things, but when Esau gives up his birthright and Jacob tricks his father out of a blessing, they become estranged for many years. When Jacob finally goes to Esau and his brother finds it in his heart to forgive Jacob, Chris takes the cue and forgives Joy, as well.

It's when David meets the giant Goliath that Chris finds the courage to face his own giants.

When Chris begins to believe that Miraculo The Miracle Maker magician possesses real powers, Superbook whisks the kids off to historical Galilee where Jesus is performing true miracles like healing a cripple, calming a storm on the sea, and banishing demons from a possessed man. During the course of their miraculous adventure, Chris comes to understand the power to perform miracles comes only from God.

Chris is getting big-headed because his band has been invited to audition for an American Idol-like show called World’s Best Band. To address this issue, Superbook whisks the kids off to Jerusalem. Chris learns from Jesus that even though Jesus is famous, He was humble and served others. During the Last Supper, the gang ultimately returns home, and Chris has a major shift in his attitude towards others.

Superbook intervenes and, in a very special episode, takes Chris, Joy, Gizmo, AND Phoebe back in time for an encounter with Jesus’ mother Mary during the time of her son's crucifixion. When Superbook returns the family home, a wiser Chris apologizes for their argument, and their relationship is restored.

As Joy questions why Sharon shouldn’t be punished, Superbook transports her, Chris, and Gizmo to meet up with a prophet named Jonah. Jonah is running away from God because he doesn't think the people of Nineveh deserve God's mercy. Through Jonah's experiences, Joy realizes that mercy is a great gift to give as well as to receive.

As he watches Joseph rise from prisoner to governor of Egypt and gain a long lost bond with his brothers, Chris learns to forego his own plans and trust a little more in God's plans instead.

At school, Joy has to choose between standing up for Bonnie (a girl in a wheelchair) or going with the crowd. Suddenly, Superbook sends Joy, Chris, and Gizmo to a time when Queen Esther chooses to stand up for the Israelite people. This encourages Joy when she faces Janice and the Girls' Leadership Club.

When Chris is faced with a challenge between choosing to act truthfully or to take the easy and more "fun" pathway, Superbook whisks the kids back to meet John the Baptizer. During an exciting journey that takes the kids from witnessing John preach and baptize on the Jordan River, all the way through to his incarceration and ultimate death at the hands of Herodias and King Herod, Chris comes to understand what it means to live truthfully and point others toward in the direction of being more like Jesus. When Chris returns home, he applies what he's learned. Although it doesn't change the boy he is trying to help, Chris himself is that much stronger, for the effort he's putting in and for the experience of meeting John the Baptizer firsthand.

After a disaster in South America, Joy has to choose between finishing her mission or giving up. Suddenly, Superbook sends Joy, Chris, and Gizmo to a time when Paul chooses to focus on his mission, no matter the circumstances. This encourages Joy when she returns to face her relief project.

During the worst week of his life, Chris loses his grandpa. He feels as if he cannot go on. He wants to give up on doing what is right. Suddenly, Superbook sends Chris, Joy, and Gizmo to a time when Job is tested by God.

Chris' mom forgets that he has a trip planned to the lake and volunteers him to help his Great Aunt Isabel do yard work for the weekend. Superbook takes Chris, Joy, and Gizmo to meet someone who gave up everything to show kindness to her family. They meet Ruth, a young woman from Moab whose husband died, leaving her alone with her mother-in-law, Naomi. Then a kindhearted relative steps in to change their lives forever.

Superbook takes the kids back to the wedding of Cana. The wedding feast is nearly ruined when they run out of wine, but Jesus miraculously changes water into wine. Superbook then takes the kids to witness Jesus feeding over five thousand people by multiplying a few fish and five loaves of bread into a feast.

Just as Joy is heading out to the waterpark, she learns that her parents are helping at the community outreach drive today. As Joy grapples with what to do, Superbook appears and whisks the kids back to ancient Egypt. The kids meet Miriam who is helping her family hide her baby brother from the Egyptians. Pharaoh has decreed that all Hebrew baby boys be thrown into the Nile River! When the family can no longer hide the baby, he is placed in a basket and sent down the Nile River. Pharaoh's daughter discovers him and decides to adopt Miriam's baby brother as her son and names him Moses. After returning home Joy realizes that God had a plan for Moses, and maybe for her, too! She decides to seek God to reveal that plan and chooses to help out at the community drive by adopting a more mission-driven focus.

Chris has been saving his allowance and lawn mowing money to purchase an expensive new telescope. Meanwhile, the church youth group is involved with a food drive. Chris becomes conflicted about donating money to support the food drive or sticking with his plan of buying the telescope. Superbook arrives to take Chris, Joy and Gizmo to the Jerusalem Temple. There they meet up with Jesus' disciples while He is teaching. As they watch, a widow makes a donation into the temple treasury. She gives only two mites, but it is all she has to live on. Jesus comments that the poor woman gave more than the other wealthy contributors who gave only a tiny part of their surplus. This causes Chris to rethink his attitude about tithing to his church. Once home, Chris wrestles with his decision, but finally comes to a place where, like the widow, he gladly donates all his money to the church mission.
