Ben has his hands full keeping his client in check, preventing him from threatening witnesses he believes are lying, and he also finds himself framed for drug possession. Fortunately, a friendly, young deputy sheriff, Conrad McMasters, is on Matlock's side. Ben's certain that the two dead men, Ryan Bartell and Frank Hamilton, were part of a criminal conspiracy, and with the help of his new friend Conrad, sets out to prove it, after he calmed Matlock down, who was framed to have all the drugs in his car.
