In the series premiere, a group of recession-hit men from Oregon make a high-risk decision to leave their homes and head north to Alaska in search of gold. With little mining experience and everything on the line, the crew gathers heavy equipment, prepares for the difficult journey, and sets out to build a working gold-mining operation in the Alaskan wilderness.

The crew finds gold at the Porcupine Creek claim, and "Dakota Fred" returns with a bombshell to drop on the Hoffmans.

This season someone hits the motherlode. Todd doubles down with two claims, twice the crew and twice the gear. Dakota Fred's glory hole is thought to contain millions in gold. Parker hires a new crew and sets his sights on new land.

As a new mining season begins, Parker gets off to a disastrous start when he loses key crew and Tony orders him off his claim. Todd sets a massive goal for the season and Tony reveals big plans to expand his operation.

Parker gets a lead on virgin ground at Cleary Creek in Alaska. Rick puts Brennan to the test as the night foreman in the Rally Valley. A quick fix on Tony's trommel feeder balloons into a major headache.

Tony calls his son Kevin to help fire up nearly every plant he can, including Dredge #1. Parker squeezes every ounce of gold out of his Dominion Creek claim. Rick battles freezing equipment in his final bid for a comeback.

Parker chases a record-breaking 10,000-ounce season. Rick pursues his dream of buying his own claim. The fate of the Beets family dynasty shifts when the eldest son, Kevin, strikes out on his own.
