When heroic, charming and handsome Sir Galavant loses his true love, the beautiful Madalena, to evil King Richard's wealth and power, he falls into a deep and drunken despair. Just as our hero hits rock bottom, Princess Isabella shows up with a quest to save her kingdom, defeat the despicable King Richard, and provide an opportunity for Galavant to reclaim Madalena. Galavant is off to become a hero again and strike a blow for true love... but first, Galavant has to fit into his old hero pants.

Galavant enters a jousting tournament against a boastful rival, Sir Jean Hamm, to test his return to heroic form (and win some much-needed traveling money and a really nice rooster). But it quickly becomes clear that Galavant is a long shot to win. Meanwhile, King Richard asks Gareth to help him become a bit more macho so that Madalena won't despise him quite so much.

Richard and Galavant consult a fortune teller, who puts Galavant in contact with Isabella in Hortensia. However, the messages get horribly muddled, and Isabella believes that Galavant no longer loves her. Meanwhile, Gareth and Madalena fight over decorating the throne room.

Galavant and Richard discover that the local villagers have torn down Richard's castle and used it to make a rec center. While Galavant tries to convince them to form an army to help him rescue Isabella, Richard laments what he'll do now that he isn't king. Meanwhile, Isabella meets her new wedding planner Wormwood... and he takes control of her with a magical tiara. And Madalena orders Sid to help Gareth deal with his nightmares of betraying Richard.

Sid, Richard, and Roberta take the dying Galavant to Neo of Sporin, hoping for a miraculous cure. However, they're too late... or are they? Meanwhile, Wormwood incites war between Hortensia and Valencia, and Gareth and Madalena war about their feelings for each other.

Bewitched, Bothered, and Belittled
After avoiding a cutthroat band of mercenaries, Galavant realizes that he'd be better off without Richard and tries to set him up with Roberta. Meanwhile, Chef notices that Isabella refuses to remove Wormwood's tiara, and Madalena is invited to a Sunday Roast by the "it" family of the kingdom.

Galavant tries to motivate his zombie army, while Richard and Roberta celebrate their newfound love. Meanwhile, Madalena secretly joins forces with Wormwood to learn the power of D'Dew: the Dark Dark Evil Way.

Galavant finally gets his chance to be a hero when King Richard challenges his brother to a duel and requires someone to fight for him.

The armies of Hortensia and Valencia prepare to square off, but Galavant's zombie army changes the tide of battle... until Wormwood and Madalena use D'DEW take control of the zombies. Meanwhile, Gareth discovers that Madalena has betrayed him and confronts Richard.

A visit to Sid's hometown reveals he has not been truthful about his career path. While Galavant and Isabella back up Sid's stories, King Richard decides to throw a ball to cheer up the people of Valencia.

An encounter with land-bound pirates forces Galavant, Isabella and Sid to learn how to get over their petty squabbles and work together. Meanwhile, King Richard tries a new tact to win Madalena's love.

A New Season (aka Suck It Cancellation Bear)
It's a new season! Richard and Galavant are shipwrecked and try to get back to Valencia so that Richard can reclaim the throne. Meanwhile, Gareth insists that he be crowned king, Isabella plots her escape from her cousin Harry, and Sid gives away the season finale.

After Galavant and Richard argue about Richard''s new "dragon," they go their separate ways only to find themselves on separate sides of the giant vs. dwarf war. Meanwhile, Sid gives Gareth some advice and may live to regret it. And Isabella is freed from Wormwood's mind control tiara and goes looking for blood.

Isabella banishes Wormwood and Barry, who meet Sid in the Forest of Coincidence and learn that Valencia is ruled by a war-crazed king and queen. Meanwhile, Galavant ends up returning home and discovers that his father Arnold now runs a swordfighting school for at-risk boys.

While Galavant struggles with the realization about his true love, King Richard goes on a voyage of self-discovery, thanks to a potion from the magician, Xanax. As Galavant draws closer to the woman he really loves, an emboldened King Richard starts to assert himself, just as his meaner, elder brother returns - Kingsley.

Gareth joins forces with the others when Madalena betrays him by learning D'DEW. Meanwhile, Richard steps up as the One True King when Wormwood kills Tad, and isabella confronts Madalena in final battle.
