Stock-farmer Vanneste testifies about the murder on Brechtje, but the defense is more interested in a different suspect. This might be a reason for the judge to stop the process. The jury gets a weekend-break. Delphine's husband promises to be more considerate, but gets her in a way she didn't expect. Noël tries to help her by involving Carl's daughter as a babysit. Joeri tries to soothe his moral dilemmas, but gets himself into trouble.

The respected school director Frie Palmers is on trial for double murder. She's accused to have murdered her best friend Brechtje 18 years ago and recently her little daughter Roos. Palmers pleads not guilty. Twelve ordinary people are being elected as the jury for the trial and will decide on her fate. Not everyone wants to be there, because it looks like it will be an intense trial.

Police officer Donald Vantomme has failed years on end in his investigation for the murder on Brechtje Vindevogel. His colleague Eliane Pascual joined the investigation much later and directed the inquires in the right direction. The jury members try to organize their own lives with that of the trial. The ethical Joeri finds himself in a dilemma in his construction company and Delphine has problems with her dominant husband.

As witness for the Crown Stefaan talks about the death of his ex-girlfriend Brechtje and his daughter Roos. The defense attacks his alibi. The whole case gets into the heads of the jury-members. Arnold thinks more and more that the whole world is rotten. Delphine finds is difficult to concentrate on the case, because her home situation gets ever worse. Noël knows about it and talks to someone with the press in exchange for money.

Margot, the new girlfriend of Stefaan, and her mother Lutgard where babysitting Roos when Roos was attacked with a piece of broken glass. The defense is very hard on them. There seems to be much more behind the story they tell. Delphine is worried, because her children are also with a babysit. Something goes wrong and Delphine will have to explain it to her husband.

In court, officer Eliane Pascual explains convincingly how she traced back the murders on Brechtje and Roos to Frie Palmers. Holly Ceusters, one of the jury members, has lied about her last name and Carl thinks this very strange. Also, Holly seems to be very loose among male company. Jurymember Joeri doesn't mind this very much.

The father of Brechtje, Marc Vindevogel, tells the jury what, according to him, the role of the stock farmers was with Brechtje's murder. He seems to have a love hate relationship with Frie Palmers. Jurymember Carl Destoop is distracted from the process by his adolescent daughter Juliette who is very rebellious. Joeri also has a lot on his mind. Holly tries to be honest with him, but the truth hurts.

The statements of the medical expert and the alienist bring forward material evidence. Both Frie and Stefaan undergo a lie detector test and the results are remarkable. During a filmed reconstruction of the facts, the jury see how Palmers collapses at Roos her bed. The jury members have doubts. Delphine's husband doesn't allow her to be with her children anymore. Noël offers her a place to stay.

Because of the testimonies of the defense it turns out that the alibi of Stefaan De Munck for the night his daughter was attacked, isn't correct. The President of the Court decides to call him again as a witness. Joeri has moral dilemmas. He doesn't think he's qualified to be a jury-member. Holly tries to give him some courage and tells him a secret she has carried with her for a long time now.

Today the twelve members of the jury head a tough task. They deliberate the guilt of Frie Palmers in the double murder she's been for on trial. The discussions go head to head and some jury-members are diametrically opposed. They build their opinion on their experiences from the last few weeks. When the verdict is announced, there is absolute silence in court. The jury members realize the impact the trial had on their lives.
