No episódio anterior, Jânio, morador do Jambalaya, arma uma grande confusão para destituir Álvara do cargo de síndica. Mesmo depois de ficar sob asilo político no apartamento de Celinha e Mário Jorge, Jânio é expulso do Jambalaya. Quando percebe uma possibilidade de fuga, porém, Jânio invade o apartamento de Rita e Arnaldo e faz Isadora, Tatalo e Adônis reféns. Dona Álvara tenta controlar a confusão que se instaura no condomínio exigindo que a milícia do local, MIJA, capture o ex-morador. Copélia se desespera com ao perceber que pode nunca mais ver Jânio, um de seus namorados, e faz de tudo para impedir a ação da síndica.
